Welcome to our amazing zoo adventure! In this unit, we are going to learn about animals, superlative adjectives, past simple verbs, and some useful prepositions. Ready? Let’s go! 🚶‍♂️🌿

🐯 Animal Vocabulary

Here are some animals from our unit:

• 🐻 bear → oso
• 🐦 bird → pájaro
• 🐋 blue whale → ballena azul
• 🐊 crocodile → cocodrilo
• 🐬 dolphin → delfín
• 🐘 elephant → elefante
• 🦒 giraffe → jirafa
• 🦘 kangaroo → canguro
• 🦁 lion → león
• 🦎 lizard → lagarto
• 🐵 monkey → mono
• 🐼 panda → panda
• 🦜 parrot → loro
• 🐰 rabbit → conejo

✨ Example Sentences

• The elephant is very big.

🏆 Superlative Adjectives

We use superlatives to compare many things and say which one is the most special.

🔹 Examples

• big → the biggest
• small → the smallest
• fast → the fastest
• dangerous → the most dangerous

🦒 Zoo Examples

• The blue whale is the biggest animal.
  (La ballena azul es el animal más grande.)
• The rabbit is the smallest animal in this picture.
  (El conejo es el animal más pequeño de esta imagen.)
• The cheetah is the fastest animal on land.
  (El guepardo es el animal más rápido de la tierra.)

⏰ Past Simple Verbs

We use the Past Simple to talk about things that happened in the past.

✅ Regular Verbs

They usually end in -ed.

• walk → walked
• jump → jumped
• play → played

📌 Example:

• The tiger jumped over the rock.
  (El tigre saltó sobre la roca.)

⭐ Irregular Verbs

These are special verbs. They change completely!

• go → went
• see → saw
• eat → ate
• run → ran

📌 Example:

• We saw a lion at the zoo.
  (Vimos un león en el zoo.)
• The monkey ate a banana.
  (El mono se comió un plátano.)

🧭 Prepositions

Prepositions help us explain where things are.

📍 Our Unit Prepositions

• along → a lo largo de
• around / round → alrededor de
• into → dentro de
• out of → fuera de

🐼 Examples

• The children walked around the zoo.
  (Los niños caminaron alrededor del zoo.)
• The rabbit jumped into the box.
  (El conejo saltó dentro de la caja.)
• The bird flew out of the cage.
  (El pájaro salió volando de la jaula.)
