🧠 WHAT DID WE LEARN IN UNITS 3 AND 4?

🧠 ¿QUÉ HEMOS APRENDIDO EN LAS UNIDADES 3 Y 4?

In these units we learnt to:

• Talk about the past

• Use the Past Simple

• Use regular and irregular verbs

• Ask and answer questions with Did

En estas unidades aprendimos a:

• Hablar del pasado

• Usar el Past Simple

• Usar verbos regulares e irregulares

• Hacer y contestar preguntas con Did

⏰ THE PAST SIMPLE (WHEN?)

We use the Past Simple to talk about things that happened before now.

Usamos el Past Simple para hablar de cosas que ocurrieron en el pasado.

🕒 Time expressions / Expresiones de tiempo:

• yesterday → ayer

• last night → anoche

• last weekend → el fin de semana pasado

• last week → la semana pasada

• 

🟢 Examples / Ejemplos:

• I played football yesterday.
  → Jugué al fútbol ayer.

• She went to the hospital last week.
  → Ella fue al hospital la semana pasada.

• We watched a film last night.
  → Vimos una película anoche.

✏️ REGULAR VERBS (–ed)

Regular verbs add –ed in the past.

Los verbos regulares añaden –ed en pasado.

🔹 Common regular verbs / Verbos regulares comunes:

• play → played

  • I played football after school.
    → Jugué al fútbol después del cole.

• watch → watched

  • We watched TV last night.
    → Vimos la tele anoche.

• clean → cleaned

  • I cleaned my room yesterday.
    → Limpié mi habitación ayer.

• help → helped

  • She helped her parents.
    → Ayudó a sus padres.

• visit → visited

• We visited our grandma last weekend.
  → Visitamos a nuestra abuela el fin de semana pasado.

⭐ IRREGULAR VERBS

Irregular verbs do not add –ed.

Los verbos irregulares NO siguen una regla. Hay que aprenderlos.

Present	Past	Español
go	went	ir → fue
have	had	tener → tuvo
eat	ate	comer → comió
drink	drank	beber → bebió
see	saw	ver → vio
take	took	tomar → tomó
do	did	hacer → hizo
get	got	conseguir / recibir → consiguió

🟢 Examples / Ejemplos:

• I went to school by bus.
  → Fui al colegio en autobús.

• She drank a lot of water.
  → Bebió mucha agua.

• We ate chocolate.
  → Comimos chocolate.

❓ QUESTIONS IN THE PAST (DID)

To ask questions in the past we use:

👉 Did + subject + verb (base form)?

Para hacer preguntas en pasado usamos:

👉 Did + sujeto + verbo en infinitivo

🟢 Examples / Ejemplos:

• Did you go to the cinema?
  → ¿Fuiste al cine?

• Did she eat breakfast?
  → ¿Desayunó ella?

✅ Short answers / Respuestas cortas:

• Yes, I did. → Sí.

• No, I didn’t. → No.

🚶‍♀️ TRANSPORT

🚗 Transport words / Medios de transporte:

• by car → en coche

• by bus → en autobús

• by train → en tren

• by bike → en bici

• walking → andando

🟢 Examples / Ejemplos:

• I went to school by bus.
  → Fui al cole en autobús.

• She went to the park by bike.
  → Fue al parque en bici.

🟢 Activity 1 – Complete / Completa:

1. Yesterday I ______ (go) to the park.
   → Ayer fui al parque.

2. She ______ (drink) water.
   → Ella bebió agua.

🌟 MINI WRITING

Write 3 sentences about your last weekend.

Escribe 3 frases sobre tu último fin de semana.

✏️ Example / Ejemplo:

Last weekend I played football.
I went to my grandma’s house.
I ate pizza.

→ El fin de semana pasado jugué al fútbol. Fui a casa de mi abuela. Comí pizza.
